Casa Sebastiano is unique and special because it represents a dream, long thought and desired, realized with sacrifice, tenacity and effort by the Trentina Foundation for Autism.
It is located in Coredo, in Val di Non (TN). It is a specialized center for Autism Spectrum Disorders, dedicated to the memory of Sebastiano, a nice and lively autistic boy who tragically died in 2001, the son of one of the founding members of the Foundation.
It is a structure intended for the residential, rehabilitation and social and health treatment of children and young people with autism, as well as for the training of specialized operators. It offers answers to the needs of people with autism and their families: it is not a hospital-type shelter, but a house with comfortable spaces and colorful and cheerful bedrooms, in which a serene and familiar atmosphere is recreated.
Comunità Handicap, an association of groups of families for overcoming handicaps and difficulties, was established in 1991 and operates mainly in the Giudicarie and Upper Garda and Ledro areas, where it promotes awareness of disability in the area by supporting families, organizes recreational activities for groups of adults with disabilities while, in favor of minors, it manages educational assistance projects in schools and would like to undertake integrated assistance and rehabilitation projects also at home in collaboration with families, services and schools.
It currently has about 285 members (200 active), 70 volunteers and more than 100 families with disabilities are active.

The Association, established in 1991, has been active since 1995 with social inclusion and free time projects aimed at families and people with disabilities in the presence of volunteers. Several projects of the Association.
One has the objective of including people with disabilities in economic realities and not in the territory of the Valle dei Laghi, in which to carry out activities of social utility. Recipients of this project are people who cannot access the world of ordinary work but who still have good skills and a good level of autonomy. Since 2000, the Theater project has also been activated, in collaboration with the San Genesio di Calavino amateur drama, which offers theatrical performances in which disabled people and volunteers of the two associations play.
Another offers group activities of leisure and free time for the inclusion of the disabled person and promotes opportunities for socialization and fun on weekends
Another new one offers a weekly day in which people with disabilities experiment with daily and constant activities in order to learn new skills that can also be used in other contexts and which strengthen the general level of autonomy.
